Airport Transportation

By Taxi: Buy an airport sitio taxi ticket from the clearly marked taxi booth inside the terminal (nowhere else) and take your ticket outside to the line of taxis. There will be an official taxi chief who will direct you to the next taxi in line. These taxis are white with yellow doors and have "Transportacion Terrestre" painted on the outside with a picture of an airplane. A sedan will be about 172 pesos ($17) and van about 250 pesos ($25). Sometimes numerous men will try to help you with your bags, they are just looking for your American tip, but it can be a little overwhelming, say no gracias politely and just let your driver handle your bags. Be sure to tell your driver you are going Hotel Camino Real in Polanco, as there are numerous branches of the hotel chain in other parts of the city.

Camino Real Shuttle Service: You can also arrange in advance for the hotel's shuttle service to pick you up, which is a good option if a larger group is coming in at the same time. They currently offer service for 4 for $65, 8 for $75, or 14 for $140. Contact the concierge for more info and to make arrangements.

Air Travel

If you are traveling from the Northeast, we recommend you go through Miami (or New York or Newark). It is the shortest route, a smaller airport to navigate and will get you out of the snow storm zone faster. Dallas is your second option, but it's sometimes a hassle because the airport is huge and the international terminal is far from the domestic--immigration is also much more strict there. For those of you traveling from the Northwest and Midwest, we obviously don't have as much experience with that, but it looks like LA, Dallas and Phoenix are your best options. (Keep in mind casual activities will be planned from the evening of the 19th - 22nd)
